  • November 12, 2004 - PatiCat SOLD... We decided to sell our beautiful boat. We will buy a new one when our kids finish highschool and move out.
  • September 4, 2003 - Here is the write-up on our passage from Puerto Rico through the Bahamas.
  • August 28, 2003 - Here is the next leg - Puerto Rico from June 9 - 14th. Three legs left to write up after this one...whew!
  • August 2, 2003 - Here was our visit to the Virgin Islands on the way home.
• June 2003
  • June 30, 2003 - We've arrived in Beaufort, NC. We're back! We will spend a couple of days arranging to have PaitCat hauled at a boatyard, then leave by rental car to our home for July 4th weekend. We will finish updating the final legs of our journey by the end of July.
  • June 25, 2003 - We arrived in St. Augustine, Florida today. We are anchored behind the house of another Voyage Catamarn owner who read about us on our web site. They have offered us the use of their dock, outside showers, pool, dog, kids, and (best of all for the Skipper) Roadrunner Internet service! Wow, we're in heaven! We're going to see the sights here and then leave on Saturday for NC. We're coming home!
  • June 12, 2003 - Sorry for the delays in updating the log. It's getting harder as we are very busy sailing home. Here's a quick summary of our travels since Antigua. You can see we're busy!
  • June 3, 2003 - We are in St. Maarten right now after a wonderful downwind sail from Antigua using our spinnaker all the way. We caught fish too! Tomorrow we leave for St. John, US Virgin Islands.
• May 2003
  • May 30, 2003 - Read all about Nana's visit while we are in Antigua - Part IV.
  • May 30, 2003 - We spent a week in the Grenadines and caught up with Hotel California for one day in the Tobago Cays. Then, on the 20th of May we started back. We had a problem with our windlass again, and went to Rodney Bay, St. Lucia and had the metal worker there repair it. Nosille and Whilly Flippit were there and we had fun hanging out with them. Then, we left on the 22nd and sailed straight to Jolly Harbour, Antigua. Along the way, we saw whale, dolphin, portugese man of war, and had lots of fun. A write up on all of this will be forthcoming.
  • May 13, 2003 - Another update already! Here's the write-up on our second big visit to Guadaloupe with HC along part of the way. It also includes the story on our partly broken jib halyard.
  • May 12, 2003 - We are now in Bequia - part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Finally we are putting up an update to the web site. Read about the additional two weeks we spent in Antigua - Part III. Soon there will be an update about our stay in Guadaloupe, Martinique and then later about our stay here in the Grenadines.
  • May 9, 2003 - Sorry for not updating lately. We have been trying to make a fast run down south before the hurricane season. Unfortunately, we have had a "minor" problem with our sail rigging. However, getting it repaired has been a big problem. We just got a good temporary solution today, so we should be ok by tomorrow (after Frank climbs the mast to install it). We are in Martinique now (using a French keyboard right now which is a real pain). We will try to update the web sometime in the next week.
  • May 1, 2003 - Currently located in Guadaloupe and going south again. We'll head back starting in late-May and end up back in the states by the end of June (with cooperation from the weather).
• April 2003
  • April 30, 2003 - Haven't had a lot of new things to report until recently, and haven't had time to write since then. A brief summary on the item below. We will post a bigger update with pictures in a week or so.
  • April 30, 2003 - We waited an extra week for Hotel California because their new mast was a week late. But, they finally got it all fixed. Because of the delays, we got to see the first day of Antigua Week - a huge yacht race with 233 boats that started last weekend. We left on Monday for Guadaloupe, and on Tuesday Hotel California left and met us at Pigeon Island, Guadaloupe. There we did some great snorkeling, then we went to Basseterre (where we are now). Next we will be doing Ile de Saintes. PatiCat will go to Marie Galante (still in Guadaloupe) whilc Hotel California goes on to Dominica. We'll meet up with them again in Martinique a few days later.
  • April 22, 2003 - Check the Plans Section for new details on our new plans.
  • April 15, 2003 - Unfortunately, we have decided we will NOT be going to the Mediterranean. Instead, we will stay in the Caribbean until the Hurricane season in early July. We will be back in North Carolina by early July. More later.
  • April 10, 2003 - We are in Antigua now. An update on our trip to Antigua Part II, and what we are doing is now available.
• March 2003
  • March 29, 2003 - Big update today - check out the new sections below, and the update to our cruising plans which may be changing due to the Iraq war.
  • March 29, 2003 - New section on the Grenadines
  • March 29, 2003 - New section on Grenada
  • March 28, 2003 We arrived in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia last night, and will be here for a few days. Expect an update to the web site on the weekend.
  • March 9, 2003 - We are in Bequia now - part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. We will be in the Grenadines for about two weeks.
  • March 9, 2003 - New section on Martinique - read about our anchor dragging accident

  • March 3, 2003 (that's 03/03/03!) We are in St. Lucia now. We will have a real update to the web site sometime by next week. Upcoming news: minor PatiCat accident - bent stanchion only damage; caught another gamefish!; rented a car in St. Lucia.
